Thai language is tonal and you need to use the correct endings depending on whether your a man or a lady: So if your a man you end your sentences with Kap and if your a woman you end them with Ka, this is to make sure you are being polite of course.

Wat Phra Yai - Big Buddha Temple
On the northern coast of Koh Samui is the famous Big Buddha shrine.  This is probably Samui's most famous landmark and at 12 metres high, the golden Buddha statue can be seen from several kilometres away.
